When you configure your Gmail account with Outlook account, then you will be asked to set the incoming server (POP/IMAP) and (Outgoing server) SMTP settings in the Gmail account. Before configuring Gmail with Outlook, you have to make sure that IMAP/POP settings are enabled in your Gmail account or not. To enable IMAP/POP setting Gmail you need to follow below steps:
1. Log in to your Gmail account,
2. Click the gear icon on the top-right corner,
3. Click Settings, and then select Forwarding POP/IMAP to open the POP/IMAP settings,
4. Click enable IMAP, and then click Save Changes,

Sign in to your Gmail account via webmail.
Click the gear icon at the top right of the screen.
Select Settings.
Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
Select Enable IMAP.
Click Save Changes.
At the top right of your browser window left click your profile photo/icon and click the My Account button.
